Botox and Dysport usually work well for fine facial lines and wrinkles. Results are quite impressive so long as the skin is not too old or sun-damaged. If your lines can be elimiunated by gentle ’stretching’ of the skin then treatment results should be good
1. Crows’ feet (wrinkles around the eyes)
2. Forehead lines area
3. Frown lines (between eyes/ over bridge of the nose.
4. Smokers’ lines around the mouth5. ‘Cobblestone chin’
Facial Fillers
Personally I use ‘natural’ fillers which are closely related to compounds found normally in the skin but which have been synthesized rather than obtained from animals.
Areas of the body where fillers are usually used:
1. Oral commisures ( the corners of the mouth) where there may be a loss of ‘plumpness’ with age
2. The nasolabial folds ( the folds of skin going from the lateral side of the nostril to the outer side of the upper lip)
3. Forehead area.
4. Frown area.
5. Lips:to enhance thin lips
or to improve the outline or the volume of lips (Lip Augmentation)a little more but without giving a ‘bee-sting’ appearance
6. Lip area for smokers’ lines.
7. Crease and wrinke lines on the cheeks.
8. Marionette Lines – these are semi-vertical lines which go from the outer angle of the mouth down on to the chin.
9. Around the eyes occasionally.
Usually a local anaesthetic cream or injection is used to remove discomfort. Fillers are injected using a very fine needle
Botox and Dysport are licensed for cosmetic use in many countries including France and the U.S – they are NOT licensed for cosmetic use in Ireland.
Do not Have Botox, Dysport or dermal fillers (Restylane,Perlane, Juvederm etc.) while pregnant or breastfeeding.
