Hypoglycaemia and sudden drops in blood sugar levels
Some patients will complain that they cannot go for long without eating. Blood sugars which rise and fall rapidly, a condition sometimes referred to as hypoglycaemia, is not to be confused with Diabetes. In some extreme cases of hypoglycaemia patients may find themselves hungry as early as half-an-hour after a substantial meal.Usually they will have compensated for this problem by ‘grazing’ that is eating small amounts often. The ’small’ amount of food is usually because many of these patients find that while they need food very frequently, on the other hand, if they eat anything more than a small amount of food at each sitting they may begin to feel very tired or suffer abdominal symptoms.
